When I graduated from college I wanted to get a "real" job, but didn't. I wanted to pursue a relationship in a certain way, but didn't. I wanted to take more classes, but didn't. Instead, I invested my life in the lives of students as a Campus Missionary, and because of that I'm a different person. I wouldn't have it any other way.

My heart is beating for the ones named Desolate.
The ones who haven't experienced the undeserving grace that I receive on a daily basis.
The ones who don't believe they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
The ones who serve a god that requires and takes.
My heart beats for these people to be renamed!
For them to serve a Savior who is risen.
I want them to know He delights in them, and that there is a Savior who seeks them out, who loves them, and who offers them everlasting life- despite their inadequate state.

That's why I have decided to be a campus missionary.

What is a Campus Missionary?
"Well, you may be wondering what 'campus missionary' means. It blows me away, honestly. Well...my job is simply not a job, which is a joy to me. I get...I'm allowed...I'm called...to work with college students developing relationships that hopefully will lead to them enjoying the best relationship of all times...one with Christ. I get to be about discipleship, which involves fully investing in individual lives...loving, guiding, teaching, and sharing life with students. It's an opportunity to really touch lives on an eternal level and I'm thrilled to get in and get my hands dirty!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about Campus Missionary. Click the question to see the answer.

Campus Missionary

What are the educational requirements for Campus Missionaries?: Four-year bachelor's degree.
What is time commitment for a campus missionary?: Campus Missionaries usually serve one fall and one spring semester, but there have been some exceptions.
What campus would I serve on?: Usually the campus from which you graduate, but sometimes on another campus. The BSM Director, the Campus Missionary candidate, and the state office staff would make that decision together.
Do campus missionaries raise part of their financial support?: Yes, campus missionaries raise $3,200. The local BSM where they serve raises an additional $3,200 and also provides housing, utilities and all BSM-related expenses like retreats, mission trips, etc.
What about pay?: Campus missionaries are volunteers, just like all Go Now Missionaries. They are provided housing, health insurance, and up to 600 per month for normal, qualified living expenses.
What expenses can be reimbursed?: Virtually all of your normal living expenses like food, clothing, modest entertainment, car repairs, cell phone expenses, car insurance, appropriate inexpensive gifts to friends for birthdays, etc.
What expenses cannot be reimbursed with Go Now funds?: You cannot pay the follow expenses with Go Now funds: car payments, charge card payments, and student loan payments (student loan payments can be easily deferred until after your campus missionary term is completed).
How do I apply?: Contact your local BSM, then begin the online application. Upon the recommendation of your local BSM you will be invited for an interview on Discovery Day, usually on a Saturday in late March.
