Himalayan Frontliner - NEW FOR FALL SEMESTER!!

Do you love people and the outdoors? If that is the case, come spend a semester out in the foot hills of the Himalayas, planting seeds and sharing the good news of Jesus! Matthew 28 calls us out as believers, challenging us to "Go make disciples! ...of all nations, tribes, and tongues." Come work in the fields that are ready for Harvest. Jesus said that the Harvest was plenty but the workers are few. Will you answer the call to come and share? His truth needs to be taken to the hard places. Will you be the one? Come and go to the ends of the earth, where others are not going because the road is hard and the days are long. Seeds need to be planted in the places that have never heard. God has called you away from darkness and shown you His marvelous Light, there are many here who live in darkness. Come be a ray of hope and mercy showing Gods Light, that the darkness may disappear. Learn to live among those who will love on you to no end and who will take you in as a part of their family. When you leave, you will be stronger than when you arrived. Plan on growing and being stretched by God, this might just be the most difficult thing that you have done in your entire life. You and your teammate will spend 3 weeks out of each month with a National believer, trekking from village to village; again this will not be easy. During this time you will have to deal with all the elements that you come in contact with. Your National believer will be there to translate and help you out in every situation. More Than Gold
Impact
Churches across the United Kingdom are getting ready for the 2012 Olympics– and counting on hundreds of Mission and Service teams to help them seize the moment. Teams are needed in and around the Games venues and to work with local churches as they reach out to their communities. The big picture is that Mission and Service Teams will help international visitors and UK communities experience the reality of God’s love. The role each volunteer plays depends on their skills and experience. Opportunities are as varied as – serving water and food near games venues and big screen sites, sharing in leading in sports clinics and holiday clubs for children and teens, performing solo or as part of band, dance, or drama group, working with children and young people as part of the outreach program of a local church, entertaining kids with face painting, and balloon sculpting, trading Olympic and Paralympics pins, or taking part in community festivals. Don't miss this opportunity to share that Jesus is More Than Gold. You go to serve and share Christ, not as a tourist. Attending Olympic events is not part of the cost or plan.

Multi-housing Church Plants
Impact
We need your help expanding our multi-housing church plants. Help by doing Sports Camps, Back Yard Bible Clubs as well as what we would call a traditional, but laid back and comfortable contemporary worship service. Music and teaching adults & students of all ages will be a part of this. We have found the demographic where we are going is young married couples, many with small children who are open to building relationships and seeking some guidance on spiritual matters. These kids stay on the property all summer and the parents are eager to have things for them to do - they are very much open to us. This alone is exciting! It is possible that we will be doing some inner city ministry in Dallas with our church as well. Typically we know ministry is reciprocal, we know that we learn from others, even those we are teaching - God is good to keep us humble and speak in amazing ways in that still, small voice.
Location: Waxahachie, TX
Special Requirements: Abilities in music and crafts; knowledge of sports and games helpful but not required.
Dates: June 1 - June 30

Salmon Frenzy
Impact
There are few places where Alaskans gather, but during this project, over 10,000 resident Alaskans will be gathered on the Kenai peninsula to gather fish while camping out on the beach. Kids are all over the beach, un-supervised, while their parents are in the water catching fish. Your team will mobilize all the equipment and supplies for over 400 volunteers, set up the entire project and take it down at the end, and give leadership to assigned ministry areas on the beaches, including Sunday Beach Chapel, children's day camps, jump houses, beach recreational games, fish fillet stations, traffic control, trash pickup, and a warming tent. Your goal being to melt agnostic hostility to Christianity and the Gospel, make a secular environment more family-friendly, and to expose the far northerner to the irresistible Savior. Though Alaskans are typically skittish regarding religion, our serving them over and over, year after year melts through their stereotypes of Christians. We hope to have opportunity to have authentic conversations with Alaskans who are noticing the difference on the beach. We have a great opportunity to serve them and gain entry into their lives to share heart to heart.
Location: Kenai, AK
Special Requirements: High energy, strength, stamina & physical fitness are a must.
Dates: July 10 - Aug 3

Servant Leaders
Impact
Help raise up a generation of Servant Leaders of Integrity among the leading university students in the top 100 national universities. Also work at a youth camp offered to give migrant and poor children access to a life transforming experience. Though we operate values based programs that are based on a Christian world view, through the transformational environment and involvement of key Christian educators and volunteers we see a consistent 60%-80% conversion rate in our camp programs. Even as the felt needs of the leading national university students being met and they are being saved spiritually, they are also being raised up to be the best in their spheres of society. The university program and the youth camp program are all totally dependent on the involvement of US and International Christian college students and career age volunteers. Join us as we work to see a new generation of leaders of integrity raised up that will transform East Asia and the world.

The Islands
Impact
The Islands are a strict Islamic state and no religion other than Islam is legally allowed. We are working in conjunction with an organization whose vision is to plant church-planting churches in each region and mobilize laborers to help reach least-evangelized people. We will do this by Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) to children and adults which will give us the best platform with which to engage the islanders and identify surface spiritual interest. This close communication will provide us with opportunities to share God's Word through "Share Anywhere" strategy focusing on Bible storytelling and personal testimony. As we find people who seem to have a heart for spiritual things, we'll pass them on to long-term staff who can best continue to "move them along" the path to relationship with Christ. To break up the long flights, the team will be stopping in a Middle Eastern city for a day or two to finalize any briefings and to support local partner ministries in the labor camps. The labor camps in this city house several hundred thousand men and women from predominantly Muslim Asian countries. Be confident that you will be helping to touch the lives of the native people while experiencing life transformation of your own!
Location: South Asia
Special Requirements: Sophomore or above. Mature students, prefer those with overseas experience. Must complete 10 hour online TEFL & Share Anywhere training after appointed & before leaving. Materials provided. Must have passport or have applied for one by Feb 18. If just applying, must pay to expedite it.

Join this amazing opportunity to become part of the work God is doing both locally and around the world. You will go home trained and experienced as a leader! VENEZUELA OPTION: Each year, a different state in Venezuela is selected for a special evangelistic outreach. This outreach includes acts of kindness, servant evangelism, home visits and worship services. Church members from Texas, Peru and Venezuela participate. But there is much to do to prepare for the crusade. Your team will go in the week before the crusade to prepare for the teams, and then stay to participate in the first week of crusade. You will not only get to use the servant heart you develop as a member of the Valley Project, but also the skills you learn in planning, leading and sharing. You will get to experience both sides of the ministry - the preparation and the implementation. EAST ASIA OPTION: English is a bridge for sharing the gospel with youth and college students in East Asia. In partnership with a local church of believers, the team will lead an English Camp. Matthew 25 Hunger Initiative
Summer
Texas has the largest number of food insecure people in the nation. This tragically affects the children of Texas, who demonstrate the second highest rate of food insecure children in the nation. The Summer Food Service Program seeks to continue to offer meals to children throughout the summer to children who normally receive free or low-cost meals during the school year. Unfortunately, fewer than 12% of the children who qualify take advantage of these free meals. The Texas Hunger Initiative (THI) is working to change these statistics. In order to feed more children the Texas Hunger Initiative is looking for YOU to work with individual communities and their summer meals programs. You will work on a variety of projects and be able to think freely and use creativity in your efforts to help hungry children have a meal. Possible tasks include: evaluating need for new meal sites, establishing new meal sites, publicizing meal sites, creating children’s activities at meal sites, coordinating with food service providers, work with local and state agencies to provide efficient service. You will need to be able to work independently and take initiative on tasks and projects. You will also need to work well with a variety of people and children. It is also important for you to be adaptable to changing plans, and have a desire to work in low-income neighborhoods. Working with THI will give you the opportunity to be a part of helping a local community and work on a project having a positive impact across the state of Texas. This program allows you to take concrete action on the mandate of Matthew 25.

Join the World Relief staff in ministry to these international refugees during the first few months of their arrival in the US. Through tasks like setting up furniture, picking refugees up from the airport, being an English partner, or taking refugees to run errands, you will become the very first American friend these refugees will make. You must be willing to form cross-cultural friendships, be patient as refugees learn basic life skills and be very loving and understanding as the refugee struggles through adjustment to his/her new life. The greatest complaint of the refugee is loneliness. They are impoverished in their relationships, and extremely open to foreigners. You will have many opportunities to share the Gospel with people who have never heard the Good News, and you might work with Christians who have been persecuted for their faith. Serving Hurting Children
Summer
You are in for an amazing summer! The primary purpose of your coming is to minister to children, ages 4-18, who have been removed from their families due to a crisis in the family. These can range from parents in prison, parental neglect, the child's behavior and many other situations. The kids in our care act and look like normal kids, but have been through experiences that are terrible at best. You will live in the cottages with the kids and minister to them by living life with them. Your example and your love for Jesus is what we want our kids to see. We strongly believe that a change in environment or being in a "safe" place will not ultimately satisfy the kids in our care. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus is the only ultimate savior. Our summers are a blast! We have summer classes on campus ranging from archery, paintball, crazy games, basketball, photography, ceramics and many more. We take trips to Six Flags, Schlitterbahn as well as attend Youth Camp and our very own Mission Trip. Our summers are anything but boring and we have had several summer missionaries return for numerous years because of the impact that was made on them while they were here. We would love to have you join us as we seek to bring the gospel to hurting kids.

As you become friends with students at the Center and on the campus, through helping them with English conversation, smiling, being a friend, hanging out and teaching some English, you will have many opportunities to share with them the Hope of Christ that is in you. We will help to prepare you to serve here, provide opportunities for spiritual growth and help you know how to pass on to others what God has and is doing in your life. During your time here you will make a trip outside of Bangkok into rural Thailand, and will make multiple trips with students in and around Bangkok, to connect and share with them. Toward the end of the summer we have an evangelistic camp that your team will help to plan and lead, so as to connect deeper with Thai people and share the good news in a retreat setting. As students come to faith, you and the Thai believers partnering with you will discple the new believers to grow and reach out to their friends and family. You will have left the embryo of a new church in Bangkok when you leave! There will also be an upcountry trip to rural Thailand where you will do ministry in a village setting. What a legacy from a summer and an experience for a life time!
